View Full Version : Nationals trade with Padres jimi18 11-04-2005, 12:56 AM Link:http://montreal.expos.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20051103&content_id=1264373&vkey=news_was&fext=.jsp&c_id=was migs 11-04-2005, 01:29 AM  padres get castilla...damn, he always kills the dodgers :( i guess this means giles is gone UC 11-04-2005, 05:22 AM Brian Giles would look great in green and gold :D Brian Lawrence has a lot of potential. I do not know if this was such a great long term deal for the Padres. I see the logic with the Nationals dumping a 38 year old third baseman for a solid starter but I do not see the logic in the Padres trading a decent 29 year old pitcher for an aging third baseman. Call me blind, stupid, or ignorant but I think the Pads got the ass end of the stick in this trade. oaklandr8ersfan 11-04-2005, 03:30 PM Well the trade might not look so great, But B-law has struggled the last few years, He cant hold a lead for beans. So we needed a Bat in out line up and we got one, It might not have been the best chose, seeing as Castilla is 38 and might have 2 years left in him, But the Padres can fill B-law's spot with just about anyone and get the same production. I like the guy, but he hasen't exactly been Mr. Reliable for us. Only time will tell how this really plays out, I wish B-law the best and I hope Castilla can contribute to a team with a much needed offensive spark. |
