Brian Giles would look great in green and gold :D

Brian Lawrence has a lot of potential. I do not know if this was such a great long term deal for the Padres.

I see the logic with the Nationals dumping a 38 year old third baseman for a solid starter but I do not see the logic in the Padres trading a decent 29 year old pitcher for an aging third baseman.

Call me blind, stupid, or ignorant but I think the Pads got the ass end of the stick in this trade.

Well the trade might not look so great, But B-law has struggled the last few years, He cant hold a lead for beans. So we needed a Bat in out line up and we got one, It might not have been the best chose, seeing as Castilla is 38 and might have 2 years left in him, But the Padres can fill B-law's spot with just about anyone and get the same production. I like the guy, but he hasen't exactly been Mr. Reliable for us. Only time will tell how this really plays out, I wish B-law the best and I hope Castilla can contribute to a team with a much needed offensive spark.
