Bucky Dent's contract with the New York Yankees reportedly expired Monday, but that didn't result in any immediate movement from the Reds.
Cincinnati manager Jerry Narron said three weeks ago he wanted to hire Dent, who spent the last three seasons as manager of the Yankees' Class AAA affiliate in Columbus, as his bench coach and infield instructor. But the Yankees have never granted the Reds permission to so much as interview the former big-league shortstop for the job.
