The Detroit Pistons and the agent for Pistons defensive ace Tayshaun Prince told ESPN.com on Sunday night that they have reached an agreement in principle on a five-contract extension believed to be worth nearly $50 million.

The sides were facing a Monday deadline to prevent Prince from becoming a restricted free agent in July.

I like this move... it seems like a lot to pay for him, but it is hard to put a dollar amount on what he brings to the table. He does everything good, but isn't great at anything. Although, he can shut down some of the NBA's best on the defensive side of the court because of his length.
