View Full Version : Who deserves the #1... bk 10-25-2005, 03:02 PM So who deserves the #1 spot right not, Texas or USC? AudieMurphy1 10-25-2005, 03:05 PM i can't stand usc, but i believe you have to knock the champ out, and regardless of the fact that texas has played a higher quality of teams, i don't agree with the ranking, of coarse i've also wanted a playoff system for years.......... acidwash 10-25-2005, 03:12 PM So who deserves the #1 spot right not, Texas or USC? Neither. VA Tech deserves and when they win out this year they will have it. Neither USC nor Texas has a schedule as tough as VA Tech. And personally i think USC is gonna lose before the years done N_R8ErS_I_TrUsT 10-25-2005, 04:08 PM USC deserves it all the way. They have players getting hurt week after week but still manage to find someone to take their spot and kick butt. Raiders40 10-25-2005, 07:02 PM Till they get beat USC TwYsTeD 10-25-2005, 07:06 PM Sc baby c'mon dont hate the player hate the game..... of course i might be a bit biased... G-MoNeY 10-25-2005, 07:15 PM USC all the way Raiders40 10-25-2005, 08:12 PM :D :D :D USC all the way raiderran 10-25-2005, 09:38 PM USC the BCS is totally corrupt. RaiderBon 10-25-2005, 09:46 PM BCS is weird! migs 10-26-2005, 01:55 AM BCS sucks! It makes no sense...how can SC be downgraded when they came into the season #1 and haven't lost a game and won 1342152415 straight games lol USC the real #1! punisher 10-26-2005, 02:39 PM USC has not lost a game until these two lose a game it should stay that way. then when it is time put them against each other. oaklandr8ersfan 10-26-2005, 02:57 PM USC.. Until someone beats them, They should be #1 no matter what. Big D 10-26-2005, 07:11 PM USC...why? two time defending champs screw the BCS. raiderArt 10-26-2005, 07:15 PM we need a playoff system BAD!! this BCS crap is BS play your bowl games make your gazillon dollars, then throw the top 12 teams into a tourney for national champ Rhode raider 10-26-2005, 09:48 PM Usc Is # 1 And Rightly So RC 10-27-2005, 03:59 PM USC should be number 1, which that is where there be when the end of the season comes. I would rather see a playoff then this screwed up BCS Punked Again 10-28-2005, 11:43 PM Not really a USC fan but I'm becoming one because they keep getting whacked by the Bowl Cronylicious Series and it's a sick joke on the whole sport. Now Texas is #1. Sorry, but Texas plays in a weak conference that is perennially overrated by some mysterious midwest/Texas homer-force that is firmly embedded in the point system and expecially the polls. It pervades their whole arena of competition, much like the way people who fight Don King's lugs suddenly are the #1 contender. The Texas/Cal situation was a friggin joke last year and if congress wants to waste time with sports, forget Mark McGuire, there is where they should really start. Billions of dollars trade hands in college football and pretending it isn't being rigged is naive. Didn't they learn what weak football the Big 12 really plays last year??? Texas is good, a top 10 team but they look much better beating up on overrated patsies like Oklahoma, TT and Nebraska. Let them play a season in the Pac-10, guaranteed they'd finish no better than two losses, even with no USC on the schedule. What's it gonna take to get a playoff, get the fat-fingered alumni cronies out of the sport and let the football be played on the field instead of the back-room? The academic excuses don't fly, I-AA does it every year yet graduates more of their players than D-1A ... Furthermore the extra playoff games in December would be the most watched sporting events in this country, it would probably be even bigger than March Madness in terms of TV viewers, so gross receipts aren't the issue. Either. Cronies with their entrenched monetary interests and overzealous, 'connected' alumni steering the polls are the problem. Kill that pig! __________________ CoopFan 10-28-2005, 11:54 PM As long as USC and Texas make it to the national championship, I don't care who is #1 til then! bgrn 10-29-2005, 12:12 AM Once U.C.L.A. beats SC, we'll go after Texas at HOME. After December 3rd you won't have to worry about that.:D Punked Again 10-29-2005, 12:38 AM Once U.C.L.A. beats SC, we'll go after Texas at HOME.UCLA can play some ball too. All the more reason for a playoff as they should both have a fair shot at the title, one shouldn't lose that chance just because they have to play each other late in the season. migs 10-29-2005, 02:18 AM After December 3rd you won't have to worry about that.:D wow..that's gonna be some game. ucla could've won the game last year..and this year they're even better...playing really good so im a little nervous about that one. But I still think we will win that one b/c we got, if not the best coach in college football one of the best for sure  RandyTheRaider 10-29-2005, 03:16 AM BCS sucks! The colleges themselves would not be for that. Besides, what would happen to all the corporate sponsors that throw money around for a million bowl games? The NCAA would not stand to lose that much $$$. It's a good idea, your guys' hearts are in the right place, but unfortunatley, I cannot see it happening. UC 10-29-2005, 12:17 PM North Carolina scores first, 7-0 over Miami. And it's not like the Bowl teams quit practicing during the month of December anyway, the only difference is they don't play a game on Saturdays. The NCAA wouldn't have to give up bowl games either, they could be played in addition to a national championship game and nothing need be changed. If anything the extra games that actually mean something would create MORE revenue. As a fan I just don't get excited about seeing #3 vs. #17 matchups year after year anyway but that's all the bowls generally have to offer. You get maybe two interesting games a year out of that system, I barely even watch them anymore. RandyTheRaider 10-29-2005, 12:43 PM miami scores 7-7 now RandyTheRaider 10-29-2005, 12:44 PM I don't know if the playoff system will work in college football because it adds a few extra weeks to the season for the students. Natey 10-29-2005, 08:00 PM NCAA division 1AA needs playoffs COR8RFAN 11-05-2005, 12:41 PM If you look at strength of schedule and the teams that each has played, you would have to say Va Tech deserves to be nbr 1 with USC nbr 2. Texas does not play anybody except OSU and they barely won that. The Big 12 this year is awful. Texas only competition was Texas Tech who has absolutely no defense. Pollsters have to view the conferences as they are today and not based on their past greatness. ACC, SEC, and Big 10 are much more difficult divisions then the Big12 and PAC10. Iceman 11-10-2005, 04:00 AM What is it now 41 and 1 and that loss took a double OT. Almost a third against ranked teams. Whos #1. USC and till they lose they shell stay. They may well be #1 next year to boot. The Pac ten is not a weak there are usually three or four raked teams and usually win thier bowls we know what happened to over rated Va Tech. Natey 11-10-2005, 12:04 PM USC had an easy schedule and those PAC 10 teams would all lose to colorado (except USC) Its the media, they want to marry USC Iceman 11-16-2005, 04:09 AM USC had an easy schedule and those PAC 10 teams would all lose to colorado (except USC) Its the media, they want to marry USC Now thats a load of bull. Oragon 10, ND 7, UCLA 11, Fresno 16 6 teams in the Pac 10 have won all their non confrence games Texas beats Ohio #9 Wow. |
