Anyone know who the f'ck Colt Brennan is? I didn't think so. Colt Brennan is the QB for the U of Hawaii Warriors. He led the nation last year in total passing yards, total TDs, and total YPG average. He's also a pre-season favorite to lead the nation in a lot of the same catagories this year. Whether or not, it translates into victories and recognition for the program is yet to be determined. We'll find out pretty early as the Warriors open on the road against Alabama. (Side note: Colt followed one of the USC QBs in high-school. I believe he took over at QB at his high-school after Leinart left).

Here's a great read on Colt Brennan. http://www.honoluluadvertiser.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060604/SPORTS0201/606040372/1032 "He won them over," UH coach June Jones said, "the first time he puked (during a game)." The guy has been caught on national TV puking through his face mask and then, goes on with the game. It can almost be counted on. This guy is going to be a contender for some QB numbers this season.

The kid has that leadership quality. If he don't know the play then, improvise! He's in a system that will pad his numbers but, it don't take away from that leadership quality.

If you managed to stick with that article all the way through, we'll find out early as the Hawaii Warriors at the Alabama Tide is the season opener for both. From the link:

"The only thing on my mind is (the season opener at) Alabama. I wake up every day and watch one of their tapes. I work out to try to keep everything very simple, very focused, for Sept. 2. That's the only thing I'm thinking about. It's the same way with the rest of the team. You always hear guys saying, 'Man, I can't wait until the Alabama game.' Davone carries around their spring media guide. We have class together every day, and we're always looking at it, reading about one of their guys."

"It's football. They've got to go out in front of their home crowd of 92,000, and they've got to refurbish their whole defense, and they've got to bring in a new (starting) quarterback. They've got a lot on their plate, no matter who's coming. It could be anybody, let alone the fact we're coming off the year we just had. We know how to lose in front of big crowds. We've done that before. We want to go win one now. We're hungry. We've got everybody back. ... It's warming up to doing something great. It's a matter of working hard and getting there."
