One of these days the Chargers will actually use a high draft pick on a O-Lineman. I doubt we will keep finding guys like Olivea.

We need to look hard at OLT this draft, there is going to be alot of O-line beef in the draft, alond with LB's, two places I think we can upgrade at if godfrey retires. I would want the first used on o-line but AJ Hawk would not bother me either.

Hawk wouldn't bother most people but I thought you guys were loaded at OLB with Leber, Foley, and Merriman. Unless, you want to move him inside which wouldn't be a bad idea, either.

If we end up trading Rivers to some team for a first rounder in the top 10, I'd like to use that to get Ngata from Utah to rotate NT duties with Jamal.

Hawk wouldn't bother most people but I thought you guys were loaded at OLB with Leber, Foley, and Merriman. Unless, you want to move him inside which wouldn't be a bad idea, either.
I want to put him at Mike, he would be a great replacement for godfeey or donnie. I doubt we will get him and yeah we got OLB on lock down right now.,

Gotcha, I just can't see Hawk lasting that long on the board. You could have a shot at Sims, Hodge, Jackson, so you could still find talented backers.

Yeah, l would doubt we could get him without trading rivers to the cards or 9ers really. My wants are a NT and OLT, then MLB in the second or third round.

I figured the Bolts might be going after help in the secondary this year. I know you've picked up a few DBs in recent years.....but not all of them have panned out. I was never a huge fan of Jammer. Some of the faithful bolt posters on the Raiders site mentioned maybe he could be moved to FS. You think that might be his future?

I just can't see some team giving up a first rounder for Rivers. Especially, in the top ten. Its all relative, Jammer was giving up multiple PI's and getting burned deep all last yr. This yr he hasn't been burned deep once, 4 deep balls completed on him but not getting burned like last yr, as for PI's he has gotten better, he only had one in the first Q in the philly game thats it. Each game he gets better at it. He has gotten better but I think alot has to do with coaching to, they need to teach him to look for the ball, but getting a FS that is starting to play better he is locking his side down more now.
D-flo he needs to learn to play a zone scheme, he takes to many chances and does not wrap up on tackles. He can NOT tackle, he gets picked on most the game, he is not as good as jammer is, he is just good a catching the ball but jammer is much more consistent.
I think fletcher is coming on for us, he plays zone very well, he knows his place also.
You are right, they are our weakest link, they get passed on consistantly, but since ppl can't run on us, they pass, mostly what open are short crossing routes below the safteys and above the LB's, the CB have been really getting better and keeping the passes allowed down. They give up passes but not as many TD's as last year. They are iomproving same as our pass rush is. Look at the first two passes in the raider game, they both should have been INT's but Hart didn't catch the ball that hit him in the face.

I wouldn't say people can't run on you because Dallas and Pitt did a decent job of it. But I would opt for the pass first and run second. Use the pass to setup the run. Why run when you can throw and receive less resistance? It's simple, find a weakness and exploit it!

The miller one I would put half on Jue and half on edwards, he had underneath coverage, but Jue is new to the team and needs work, but its better then wilson was last yr thats for sure.
The dallas game was BAD for penalties, I mean HORRIBLE. the pit game was not as bad, but our secondary was getting owned, we had no push on ben all game. Jammer is always close, he is a solid/good CB, unfortunately he may be the best CB we have.

D-flo needs to play better zone, jammer needs to find the ball.
I think we are out of manningg picks, it was river, Merriman and Keading that were bascially for Manning.

That trade still doesn't make sense. The Giants gave up a lot to get Manning. He's improving and playing better this year but they still have a lot of holes to fill and those picks could've helped. Not to mention, it just loaded you guys with some serious talent for years to come! We could use another Gruden deal to come along.....

Oh man, I hope you are comfortable because we could discuss this all day!
I'm hoping Oakland addresses the needs for a true OLB that can play everydown. We're not going back to the 3-4, so no real need for a tweener prospect. I like a few guys like Hawk, Sims, Greenway,Howard, Ryans, Jackson or Carpenter. I know some of these guys may play inside but we've done a good job converting a Mike in Morrison to OLB and he's leading Oakland in tackles as a rookie, not bad.
Also, we need another pass rusher opposite of Burgess. Guys like Mario Williams, Mathias, Wimbley, MacDonald, and Dumerville come to mind. We've lacked a true pass rusher for so long, now we have one in Burgess but you can never have enough rushers, IMO.
SS-I've said it many times. It's clear I am not a fan of Derrick Gibson and we need an enforcer back there. Someone that can come up in run defense, cover in open space, a sure tackler, and someone that can play a little man. Having another pass rusher will help the secondary tremendously!
Guard- Oakland can use two young mauling guards that are athletic enough to pull and get to the edge. Walker isn't the answer inside and Stone will most likely be gone after this year.
DT-Sapp has shown he has a little left in the tank and is playing very well this year. He's been getting penetration in the backfield and showing some quickness to the QB. However, Big Ted might not last much longer. We could use a stud NT.

Well what we want from the draft is just sooo relative to who posts it. for me my priorities are : O-line, MLB, NT, D-line
I am very impressed with morrison, he was a steal for you guys. I want more talent on our O-line, but we need a backup NT for jamal just in case, then we also need a replacemrnt for godfrey if he retires but I think that Wilhelm may be able to supplant him, we will see. One of our posters at SDUT, SDR is a huge draft nut, I am going to start copying and posting his stuff here.

I know some of these guys may play inside but we've done a good job converting a Mike in Morrison to OLB and he's leading Oakland in tackles as a rookie, not bad.
Also, we need another pass rusher opposite of Burgess. Guys like Mario Williams, Mathias, Wimbley, MacDonald, and Dumerville come to mind. We've lacked a true pass rusher for so long, now we have one in Burgess but you can never have enough rushers, IMO.
SS-I've said it many times. It's clear I am not a fan of Derrick Gibson and we need an enforcer back there. Someone that can come up in run defense, cover in open space, a sure tackler, and someone that can play a little man. Having another pass rusher will help the secondary tremendously!
Guard- Oakland can use two young mauling guards that are athletic enough to pull and get to the edge. Walker isn't the answer inside and Stone will most likely be gone after this year.
DT-Sapp has shown he has a little left in the tank and is playing very well this year. He's been getting penetration in the backfield and showing some quickness to the QB. However, Big Ted might not last much longer. We could use a stud NT.

I want more talent on our O-line, but we need a backup NT for jamal just in case, then we also need a replacemrnt for godfrey if he retires but I think that Wilhelm may be able to supplant him, we will see. One of our posters at SDUT, SDR is a huge draft nut, I am going to start copying and posting his stuff here.

Fonoti, the trade in the short term was bad, we need to depth, long term its good since we got a pick for someone we were not going to resign.
But he was a head case. He came into camp late every yr, always over weight. If we paid him at the end of the yr, I think he would just become a totaly turd, maybe with us shipping him off somefire will get lit and he will improve his atatitude. Going on Ir 2 seasons ago killed him , he never reall reocvered mentally from it, he had family issues, he is over 400lb's and honestly he played like chit first 2 games. Against denver, when he got pulled for dielman in the 3rd Q, then our offense started to work we..

1-15, nah you don't want that....then a few players and coaches might try to jump ship. Plus, you guys had basically the same until returning this year ( with Jue and the rookies of course ). Jue did play better in the last game against the Eagles but I don't see him as a long term answer. So if not Jue, then who?

Yep, both are good prospects and depending on combine results may be around when you guys draft. Blue, should definitely be on the board in the second maybe third round. Williams is looking more like a first round prospect, mid-late first.....or early second rounder.
